Buffalo Chicken Dip Recipe

Equipment

  • knife or something to shred or cut up chicken

Ingredients

  • 2 cups shredded cooked chicken use leftover roasted chicken or cooked chicken breast or thighs
  • 16 oz cream cheese softened
  • 2 cups ranch dressing homemade ranch adds a special touch!
  • 1 cup buffalo sauce adjust to taste for spice levels
  • 1.5 cups shredded cheddar cheese

Instructions

  • Preheat Your Oven to 350°F (177°C).
  • In a baking dish, add cream cheese, ranch, chicken and buffalo sauce in baking dish. (If chicken is still hot, I usually wait and add it when I add cheese.
  • Bake at 350 until cream cheese is melted.
  • Fold in cheddar cheese and chicken if necessary.
  • Place back in oven until cheese is melted.

Notes

Serve with:
  • Celery and carrot sticks for a crunchy, healthy option
  • Tortilla chips or crackers for something salty and sturdy
  • Slices of homemade sourdough or rustic bread
 
Tips for Success
  • Make It Ahead: Prep the dip earlier in the day and store it covered in the refrigerator. Pop it in the oven right before your guests arrive.
  • Make It Ahead: Another open for making ahead is to place all ingredients except cheese in a crockpot and stir periodically. When cream cheese is melted turn crockpot to warm and stir in cheddar cheese.
  • Homemade Touch: Use homemade buffalo sauce or ranch dressing to elevate the flavors.
  • Adjust Heat: For a milder version, use less buffalo sauce or mix in more ranch dressing.
