Nurturing a Simple Life: Homesteading, Homemaking, and Heartfelt Moments

A New Rhythm for the New Year

Lately life has felt full in the quietest and loudest way.

Quiet, in the morning coffee in front of the tree lights, but the kind of busy that fills your days before you realize it. Family, home, responsibilities, all those small moments that don’t ask permission before they stack up on each other.

But if I’m being honest, writing has been something I’ve wanted to do more of… but also something that keeps getting pushed to “later.” Not because it doesn’t matter, but because real life has been demanding my attention first.

And that’s okay. Family will always come first, as it should.

Choosing Consistency Over Perfection

Since I started this blog, I’ve felt the pressure to show up here with big, polished posts or perfectly timed ideas. The kind that feel impressive. And that’s just not me. I’m a simple person, sometimes to a fault.

But that pressure often does the opposite of what it’s supposed to do. I often find myself frozen. What do I write next? Will anyone ready it? What do people want to see? I have a thousand things going through my mind at once and I just freeze.

So instead of aiming for more, I’m choosing something simpler.

I’m setting a goal to write one post each month, a Monthly Rhythm post as I will call it. One that reflects what life looks like for our family in that season.

Not curated.

Not rushed.

Just real.

What These Monthly Posts Will Look Like

These posts will be a place to slow down and take stock of the month we’re in.

I’ll be sharing:

  • How our home rhythms shift with the seasons
  • What we’re focusing on as a family
  • The kind of food we’re cooking
  • The pace we’re choosing
  • What we’re letting go of

Some months will be full. Others will be quiet. And I want these posts to honor both.

Why This Matters

I don’t want this space to feel like another thing you have to keep up with.

I want it to feel like a pause. A place you can land, even briefly, and feel reminded that ordinary life is meaningful too.

Writing these monthly rhythm posts feels doable, life-giving, and honest. Which is exactly the kind of writing I want to commit to.

I’ll still be posting recipes when I’m able because I truly love them. They just take a little more time to pull together than most posts. This season of life doesn’t leave me with much extra, so they may come a little slower.

Looking Ahead

My goal is simple. One Monthly Rhythm post every month. No pressure to be profound. No rush to keep up.

Just showing up consistently and sharing what going on in that season of life.

So, be on the lookout for one each month. A quiet reflection on home, family, and the rhythms that carry us through.

Thank you for being here, and for reading along as this space finds its rhythm too.
